Singularity silver ring

This ring is adjustable and comes in three sizes. It is made of recycled sterling silver with a rough brushed surface. It can be worn by itself or stacked with other rings.

L: 21,5 mm (Diameter) / 67,5 mm (Circumference) 

This piece is handmade and will take up 14 days to produce. Small irregularity is in the nature of this piece.

Collection

Hiljaisuuden Meri/ Sea of Tranquility is a handmade collection of silver and stone. The pieces are both ancient and modern, rough and delicate, playful and elegant. Understated shine of brushed matte surfaces, softly rectangular shapes and molten ball-like joints connect collection.

The collection is inspired by snakes, space and the sea. I named the collection after the Sea of Tranquility, one of the big Lunar Mares. In the 1600’s, when Moon’s geographical features were named, it was thought that the darker features of the Moon’s surface were water. They have been proven to be basalt plains. Snakes haven’t been found on the moon, yet.

Silver and the Moon have been connected throughout time, probably because of the Moon’s silvery shine. In alchemy, the sign of silver is the crescent Moon. Silver also darkens as it oxidises, like the Moon darkens as it wanes.
